Ingredients

  • 470 ml all-purpose flour
  • 5 ml sugar
  • 5 ml instant yeast
  • 5 ml salt
  • 120 ml warm water
  • 60 ml plain Greek yogurt
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 30 ml melted butter
  • 15 ml chopped fresh cilantro or parsley

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add the warm water, yogurt, and olive oil. Knead the mixture for about 5-8 minutes until a smooth, slightly tacky dough forms.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each into an oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Place one piece of dough in the hot skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form and the bottom is charred.
  6. Flip and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Mix the melted butter with minced garlic and herbs. Brush the hot naan with the garlic butter immediately after removing from the pan.

Serving Suggestions
